The piece de resistance

We have an old-fashioned built-in toilet paper holder. Not only does this make it hard to use the ubiquitous double rolls of toilet paper, it had raw metal edges showing once the wallpaper was removed (originally the bathroom walls were covered with green plastic tiles which covered up this edge, and I had been hiding it with wallpaper ever since).

When browsing at Michael's craft store I came upon decorative wood trim and a tiny miter box and saw with which to cut it. So Joel used his engineering mind to figure out the dimensions, and I held the pieces to the wall for about 45 minutes while the glue set (next time I will use a different glue!) The paint color is the darker gray that I orginally bought for the walls--it makes a nicer trim color than wall color!
